Talks Underway To Resolve AC/DC's Mebourne Concert Conflict
June 20, 2009News.com.au reports that the management of the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia has formally acknowledged to the AFL (Australian Football League) it is double-booked for early February next year.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou yesterday said venue boss Ian Collins had written to him, admitting he had compromised the AFL's contractual hold on the ground for its NAB Cup series by scheduling three AC/DC concerts.
As revealed in the Herald Sun last week, the AFL is demanding explanation on the AC/DC situation, and, failing a suitable compensation offer, could legally force the legendary band off the venue.
"We have received a letter from Ian Collins, and he has actually acknowledged that he had an issue with the double booking," Demetriou said on 3AW.
